New Track: Atypical Echo

So, after ~25 hours, the next one is done!

This actually turned out significantly different from what it started as. Admittedly part of that was because I prototyped some of the sound - specifically, the bass - using a synth that I only had demo-mode access to and recreating the sound resulted in a slightly different feel; but the biggest change from the start was that the leads were originally intended more as a counterpoint to the bass. Perhaps it was the re-engineering of the bass that opened up the groove of the leads, leaving a very bright, groovy kind of track. Then, after more twists and turns, it became what it is now.

More use of some free synths - both leads are the FB-3300 and one of the bass layers are the Sprike, both of which were also used in my last track. Plus there were probably some more that I can't think of right now.

Mixing was difficult - by it's nature the track has a significant dynamic range - and I'm still not sure if it's quite right. And I just couldn't figure a proper genre for it.
